The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up ~ Pandora's Looking Really Fluffy, Melvyn The Blur, and Who's Hogging All The Pom Poms? ~ **PLUS** Today's Really Random Photo

A vibrant autumn-themed collage features 7 expressive cats surrounded by pumpkins, falling leaves, stars, and stylized newspaper graphics. One cat shouts “EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT!” in a speech bubble, introducing the central headline: “MIDWEEK NEWS ROUND UP WITH THE B TEAM.” The cozy seasonal palette and playful feline personalities create a whimsical, editorial-style visual. Perfect for fantasy cat storytelling, autumn pet content, and themed blog graphics from www.bionicbasil.com

Epic Greetings Furbulous Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

The BBHQ weather has been moderately clement during the day, but much cooler in the evenings. I have to say, we're not loving it ... where's the sunshine and the warmth?

Well, floofy readers, we know mew've been waiting all week for this, so here's last week's Zombie Hunt Stats!

It was the same as last year, who would have thought!!! MOL

WHO TAGGED AND BAGGED THE MOST UNDEAD?

A themed scoreboard titled "Mewton-Clawson Annual Zombie Hunt - Final Results 2025" displays rankings of nine feline participants against a dark, eerie background with red claw marks and zombie silhouettes. The table lists each cat’s rank, name, accuracy percentage, and total number of zombies tagged and bagged. Wing Commander Basil leads with 99% accuracy and 55 zombies, followed by Smooch and Dirk the Dangerous. The design evokes a playful, spooky competition atmosphere with a mix of humor and Halloween flair - www.bionicbasil.com

Mew may remember on our Halloween News post that we mentioned this event, so if mew missed that, click here to catch up or have a quick refresh!

Another close run this year, as mew can see, but I did just pip the rest of The B Team to come out victorious.

There was a moment I nearly fluffed up; I missed one as I did the spray and prey tactic with my Uzi, but luckily, Pandora took the shot before it bit me.

There were more undead than last year; we're not sure why, but we did exercise extreme prejudice against their unholy rampage through Mewton-Clawson.

Dirk the Dangerous did well again, coming in the #3 spot. As did newcomer Basher Bigfoot, taking the #8 spot, and this year, our elderly neighbour from Mewton-Clawson Manor, Colonel Fluffton the Fifth, came out of retirement again with his trusty blunderbuss. He also brought an AA12 this year as he joined in the fun and landed the #5 spot, well he was an army sniper back in the day!

Anyhoo, let's look at this week's top headlines.

First up in the news

Pandora's Looking Really Fluffy

Pandora the long-haired tortoiseshell cat sits calmly on a wooden deck, gazing directly at the camera with a composed expression. The cat’s dark, mottled fur contrasts with the warm tones of surrounding terracotta plant pots, some filled with greenery and others empty. A decorative lantern rests nearby, and a brick wall forms the backdrop, creating a cozy, rustic garden atmosphere. The scene evokes a peaceful outdoor moment, with the cat appearing as the serene guardian of its patio domain at www.bionicbasil.com

Pandora was snoopervising the P.A. on Monday while the spring bulbs were planted in all of the terracotta pots.

Next up in the news

 Melvyn The Blur

Parsley, Melvyn & Pandora. Indoor scene showing three cats in a hallway. In the foreground, a black cat with a white chest sits calmly on a wooden floor near an open white door, watching two other cats in motion. One of the moving cats—Melvyn—is captured in a blur as he runs at high speed across the hallway, creating a dynamic contrast with the stillness of the seated cat. The hallway features beige walls, light wooden flooring, a white radiator cover with a lattice design, a decorative pedestal with a green potted plant, and a woven rug. The image conveys playful energy and feline mischief in a cozy home setting. www.bionicbasil.com

It was a total riot in the kitchen the other evening ... Melvyn had fetched a bouncy ball out of the toy basket in the sitting room and proceeded to bat it everywhere at high speed!

Pandora only just managed to get out of the way as it hurtled into the hall! MOL

Parsely sat quietly watching, but still ready to scarper.

Finally this week

Who's Hogging All The Pom Poms?

A fluffy orange tabby cat named Fudge lies stretched out on a textured black-and-white rug, appearing relaxed and content. Surrounding Fudge are several colorful pom-pom toys in shades of green, yellow, and brown, suggesting a playful environment. The background includes a brick surface and a dark object, possibly a fireplace or furniture, adding to the cozy indoor setting. A watermark at the bottom reads "copyright www.bionicbasil.com

Fudge helped himself to all of the pom poms and then proceeded to take full ownership.

Yep, sometimes he just doesn't want to share - #ohdear! MOL

Yours Truly Wing Commander Basil from 2015

Wing Commander Basil, a white cat with dark brown and black tabby markings on his back, tail, and head, stands alert on a well-kept grassy lawn. He wears a collar with a tag, suggesting he’s a beloved pet. Behind him is a lush green bush, with a red building and purple flowers adding color to the garden setting. Sunlight casts soft shadows, highlighting Basil’s poised stance and giving the scene a vibrant, outdoor feel. www.bionicbasil.com

I do remember that day quite vividly, as it was the day Cat Dad returned from a trip to Australia.

Time literally does fly! MOL

**HALLOWEEN EDITION** The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up ~ Parsley's Got Gordon The Ghost, Smooch is Spying, and Melvyn's Modelling ~ **PLUS** Today's Really Random Photo

The B Team's Midweek News Halloween Banner @BionicBasil®

Epically Spooky Greetings Furbulous Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

What a totally boring week weather-wise:- it's been dreary, overcast and dull with intermittent showers, and some heavier than others. The clocks went back an hour on Sunday morning, and we're not loving it being dark at 5.30pm, it really puts a dampener on pawtrols.

And if mew didn't see me on Monday's Bumper Brain Training post, it's the Mewton-Clawson Annual Zombie Hunt tonight. I was all geared up and ready to go, and then, I saw that my 2025 Zombie Hunter Permit was about to expire, again!

FLUFF ME!!

I can't believe I forgot, especially after last year! MOL

Luckily, I know a lovely lady cat who works in the local Town Hall. Her name is Daphne, and I saved her three years ago from a weird wolf attack on Hexpaw Hill, so I made a call, and she got my permit approved instantly. EPIC!

Take a look at the local poster advertising the event. It features Dirk the Dangerous; he's from Upper Fluffton, a small hamlet about a mile to the north of Mewton-Clawson.

Digitally illustrated anthropomorphic cat in futuristic armor, wielding a large weapon and standing in a misty, leafless forest. The scene promotes “The Mewton-Clawson Annual Zombie Hunt” with bold text asking “Are mew ready to tag and bag the undead?” and “How many will mew get?” alongside 29 tally marks and a red paw print. The eerie setting, combat-ready feline, and Halloween-themed challenge blend sci-fi and spooky humour. Halloween cat zombie hunt, futuristic feline illustration, spooky cat event, digital Halloween art, cat-themed combat poster, and creative Halloween pet content from www.bionicbasil.com.

In 2023, Upper Fluffton was overrun with zombies, and thank cod Dirk, who'd only just moved there after a rather colourful career in a special ops force, was on paw to save the residents.

It was only fitting after he'd saved everypawdy that he is the poster cat of choice for this annual event, and fluff me, he looks as mean as hell, doesn't he?

So wish us luck tonight, and we'll let mew know how many we tagged and bagged next week.

BBHQ ANNOUNCEMENT

Look at this...

Stylized book cover for Paws of Destiny: Book 8, featuring silhouetted animal heroes standing united beside a moonlit lake. Above them, a glowing red Time Travelling Telephone Box (TTTB) spirals down from a cosmic vortex, symbolizing a pivotal moment in their interdimensional saga. The scene is framed by dark foliage and a full moon, evoking mystery, magic, and high-stakes adventure. Bold red title text and series branding complete the dramatic composition - read the adventure at www.bionicbasil.com

PAWS OF DESTINY ~ BOOK 8

A Basil and the B Team adventure like no other

A Basil and the B Team adventure like no other

The Nexus Spiral has fractured. The Nullshade has awoke. And destiny never rests.

Basil thought the war was over. Melvyn was safe. The Red Evil defeated. The necromancers are gone, and the Purrminators destroyed. The second M Unit, safely hidden away in the Pocket Universe with a bag of secrets and the essence of two fallen heroes, as they wait for the right moment to return.

As BBHQ braces for a new storm, the B Team must use all their unreasonable resourcefulness to survive, decode a divine prophecy, and face a threat older than time itself. The second Time Travelling Telephone Box spirals back into reality, just as the next deadly battle begins.

Some paws are forged in fire. Others are written in the stars.

OH MY COD, TALK ABOUT A TEASER!!!!!

Yep, book eight is coming soon - just in case mew didn't know! MOL

Anyhoo, let's look at this week's top headlines.

First up in the news

 Parsley's Got Gordon The Ghost

Parsley the black cat lounging on a patterned fabric rug, surrounded by Halloween-themed plush toys including a red chili pepper, a brown pumpkin toy, and a white ghost plush with black eyes and mouth. The ghost toy rests on the cat’s front legs, creating a cozy cuddle pose. The scene blends playful Halloween charm with feline relaxation,“black cat Halloween photo,” “cat with ghost plush,” “festive pet photography,” “Halloween cat toys,” “spooky cat cuddle,” and “creative Halloween pet content” from www.bionicbasil.com

Gordon the Ghost keeps appearing in the most unlikely of places around BBHQ, and so do the catnip pumpkins. The P.A. puts the toys back in the open toy basket just before bed every night, and every morning, there's one or more pumpkins strewn in the kitchen, and Gordon is in the most random of places.

Parsley decided that Gordon needs snoopervising, and so he's keeping a very close eye on the little ghost.

Smooch is Spying

Smooch didn't think anypawdy could see him as he sat in the office chair and peeked over the back - yep, he's sneaky! MOL

Talk about covert ops!
