Spring Has NOT Sprung, The Beast From The East & The Red Dot Must Die on the Pet Parade Blog Hop No: 237 ~ Hosted by Rascal & Rocco Co-Hosted by Basil & Barking from the Bayou

Pawesome Friday Greetings Furriends

Welcome to the Pet Parade and our weekly news round up!

It's the second day of meteorological* spring.... Yeah right, whose having a laugh???

Meteorological* spring starts on the 1st and astronomical -normal- spring starts on the 20th of the month, and as we're sick of winter we thought we'd go with the early option this year fur a change.

As mew know if mew've already visited this week, we've got the Beast from the East attacking right now, and no it's a weather front not an actual monster! MOL

This was our pond this yesterday morning, before we turned the pumps off as the water was getting too low.

Fudge had neffur experienced snow before and didn't like his paws getting cold.  He insisted on accompanying the P.A. yesterday while she was filling the burd feeders and getting the burds baths refilled as they'd completely frozen...

..so aftur rushing back indoors, he had to warm himself up by trying to kill the red dot, and yes he jumps up walls, but it certainly got his circulation moving! MOL

And just to make it all the more interesting, there's still more snow to come as another storm is heading northwards bringing further blizzards and freezing temperatures, don't mew wish mew were here right now... no, we didn't think so! MOL

Wednesday night it was -6c with a 'real feel' of -18c

So to all our pals in the UK and around Europe, we hope you're staying safe and keeping warm, and remember next week it'll be like it neffur happened, hopefully.

Plus, mew may remember the old saying:

'In Like A Lion, Out Like A Lamb' fur the month of March?

If it rings true this year, it should be lovely later in the month, a pawsible, veritable heatwave compared with now!

If mew missed anything offur the last week, here's the latest posts fur your purrusal:

We'll be back with our usual selfie selection on Sunday, so hope mew can join us then, in the meantime we wish mew all an epic weekend

Bestest purrs and big hugs

The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up ~ Parsley Went Missing in Action, Smooch is Under a Bush and Melvyn's Wearing This Weeks Top Pick Bandana **PLUS* This Weeks Top Videos

 Smashing Greetings Supurr Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

Happy March the 1st and roll on Spring!

And as mew can see to celebrate such a momentous occasion we've changed our loved-up header to a rather spiffing Spring one, as we are looking forward to some warms imminently, although the fear-monger climate-change weather peeps keep threatening us with another Beast from The East snow storm phenomenon like we experienced in 2018, and mew can see exactly what the first Beast did to our pond in 2018 by clicking here. So we'll wait and see if it arrives sometime this month. Though in all honesty, we'd rather it didn't and it can fluff right off to the North Pole, and stay there.

We've also created new springy graphics for our posts, as we really wanted to move away from the frosty winter vibe.

Also, all of us have just been to the vets for our yearly boosters and wellness check. Parsley is weighing in at a rather hefty 6.7 kg, Melvyn is 5.4 kg, Smooch is 4.7 kg and Fudge is 5.8 kg. Amber and Pandora refuse to share their stats, citing that highly sensitive information is private and confidential.

Melvyn has a tiny bit of gingivitis on one tooth, which we will monitor, and Smooch has had to have an extra blood test, so we'll update mew on that when we have more news.

Apart from that, all went well. But the really funny thing is, our boosters were due in December, but apparently there is a shortage of vaccines, and we had to go on a waiting list until they became available. Tres bizarre for sure!

First up in the news this week

Parsley Went Missing in Action

The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up ©BionicBasil® Parsley Up The Tree in The Courtyard

On Sunday evening about 11pm when we were locking up and about to head off to bed, we noticed that Parlsey hadn't appeared for his bedtime treats, which is very unusual.

He normally spends his evenings in the sitting room on the sofa near the fire or upstairs on his silk sofa in the dressing room. So the P.A. went upstairs to see if he was lurking anywhere and couldn't find him, then a search of the entire house began, we even went outside and checked the shed, summer house and garden, but he wasn't anywhere to be found.

Then dad checked the airing cupboard for a second time and out he popped. He must have quietly slipped in when dad got a towel for his shower at about 9pm and gone for a snooze in the heat.

Anyhoo, while he'd been in the airing cupboard on a stealth mission, he must have accidentally knocked the boiler valve and on Tuesday we had no hot water or heating. Dad told the P.A. in the morning that there was no hot water, so luckily we have an electric shower, although mew could probably spit faster than the water flow.

And it wasn't until 6pm when the P.A. noticed that the house felt cold that she discovered that we had an imminent disaster. Luckily dad arrived home from work and sorted it all out and got the boiler working, but the P.A. had to drain one of the radiators a little as it refused to comply and heat up, but after it was all ok.

So the moral of the story is this; be extra vigilant when opening the airing cupboard in a low-light situation especially when black cats are lurking!

 Smooch is Under a Bush

We had a bit of sunshine on the weekend, although the wind was quite cool, so Smooch got himself huddled under the hedging on the patio and enjoyed this sheltered sunspot for about an hour.

We've never seen him in this spot before, in fact, we've never seen anypawdy try this one before. Normally he gets in his basket by the patio doors and hunkers down in the wool blanket, and he loves it in there. So we'll keep an eye out to see if this spot gets used again! MOL

Time To Give Those Little Grey Cells a Workout on Brain Training with Professor Basil P.H.D. #42 RIP Roses and Guess What's Coming Soon?

Happy Purrsday guys

Welcome to another fab Purrsday on the blog.

How are mew feeling this week?  Did mew see Spring yet? And most impawtantly, did mew get any sun-puddles to bathe in?

I got outside early this morning and it was glorious...

... still a little fresh but in the shelter in sun trap it was EPIC!

I was actually outside inspecting the new roses, as the P.A. planted some miniature standards a few weeks ago when it seemed like Spring was occurring.  Though at that point we had no clue that the Beast From The East was going to strike 3 times throughout the ensuing weeks, needless to say the new standards didn't make it, the good news is the new rose bushes did and are just starting to bud.  Next week it's appurrrently going to get up to 20C+  WOOOO HOOOOO, about time! MOL

Oh and mew may remember last week when I dropped a little teaser about an upcoming project, well today I'm going to tell mew about it.

As many of mew know me and The B Team aren't just your regular kinda cats, we go on the most amazing adventures and epic journeys, we have more military than the military; and saving the wurld at least once a month is the norm fur us, though mew guys neffur get to hear about it because it's all supurr top secret and classified.

But me and the B Team think its high time that the TRUTH is revealed and we're going to reveal some of our most shocking and deadly missions in our upcoming series, The B Team Files.
Are Mew Ready Fur The Truth?

#NotFakeNews

It's time to get those little grey cells wurking.

Here's the answer key to last weeks puzzle  How did mew do?

Are mew ready fur this weeks puzzle?
Just right click to save the puzzle to your 'puter or print it off.

Answer key will be on next weeks post.

Just right click to save the wurdsearch to your 'puter or print it off.

And here's this weeks jigsaw puzzle, featuring The B Team Files... coming soon to the blog!

It took me 7 mins 27 secs...  How did you do?

The amazing Eastside Cats absolutely thrashed my time last week with with HRH Erin coming in a close 3rd, though I was told that Mrs 'H' interrupted the game by bringing in some light refreshments; mouse hors d'oeuvres along with a rather tasty cheese selection served with a rather spiffing nip cream dip - I don't think I would have gotten started with a snack like that! MOL

Great job guys!

Now lets see how they do this week!

A quick reminder before we go... don't furget to join in the supurr Thankful on Thursday Blog Hop which is hosted by Brian's Home
