Hello gorgeous library guests and welcome to my private library

I do hope mew've all had a lovely week since my last post, I'm afraid there's not much to tell today as - see pic below - this is what I've spent the last few days doing! OOPS! MOL

My Week at BBHQ Feline Fiction on Fridays #118 at Amber's Library ©BionicBasil®

It's a hard life for senior kitty at BBHQ; the fire gets stoked, the blanky gets changed, I get brushed, I get oodles of cuddles, food is freely available when I demand it and sleep is blissful, so in essence I've actually achieved nothing and I've loved effury moment of it!

Do mew effur get weeks like that, where effurything seems too much of a chore and it's easier just to take a step back and breathe?  Honestly it's happening more and more frequently to me recently, I don't know if it is my time of life, my age, my crotchetiness, or just the cold weather... but whateffur it is I'm really enjoying this new vibe of being, the stillness and just being able to let go of all the silly, mundane things which the wurld keeps throwing at us relentlessly.

I don't need to be ON 24 hours a day, or be connected 24 hours a day, or be checking my Angry Amber insta account effury 3 minutes to see if some nice kitty has followed me or liked one of my pics, or to feel the pressure of posting something just because - I don't need that constant pressure of being in the moment online.

I want to be in moment next to fire, sleeping, reading, looking out of the window and doing a spot of burd-watching, ambling in my library, sorting my books etc etc...

Are mew guys feeling the shift, or is it just me?  Let me know your thoughts in the comments...

And now I think it's time to share this weeks book.

The Crazy Cat Lover's Handbook

Here's A Small Snippet of the Book Blurb:

Some people mistakenly believe they own their cats, however these people are totally delusional! What is really going on is that they have unwittingly entered themselves into indentured servitude, and whether they realize it or not their life is no longer their own, your cat OWNS you!

>^.^<

So what did I think to this book? Well to start with I thought it was going to be just another fun, Meow Out Loud book, but actually while it is that in places as mew relate to common cat capers, it's also a very clever instruction manual for hoomans.

It has sections on: Going To The Vet. What Not To Eat. Common Ailments. Travelling With Your Cat and various other topics such as brushing, playtime, sleeping and even a bit of cat history through the ages which I can see would be supurr informative for any hooman staff.

It's full of black and white pics of many different kitties throughout, to keep even the most inattentive hooman turning the pages and learning a little more.

This would be an ideal book for anyone new to being cat staff. And would also be ideal for more seasoned staff to compare their own findings with, as mew can never have too much info.  And from purrsonal experience, there's always someone else knows something that mew don't.

We cats are pernickety creatures who like things just so, and if our needs are not being met in the correct manner we are not afraid to show our disapproval in the slightest, as newbie staff and seasoned pro's can attest to time and time again.

My advice aftur 17 years of managing the BBHQ staff, get the book cod dammit and make sure mew get the staff to read it!

A Lesson To Learn with The P.A., Looking Aftur The Burds & Parsley Sent $60 AUD on The Pet Parade 337 with Dash Kitten, Barking from the Bayou and US!

Happy Wednesday guys

How's your week been so far?

Sorry we missed Mondays post, the P.A. was quite upset after some news she got on Caturday regarding her accident.  Apparently the dude who caused the accident through his sheer stupidity and negligence didn't have any insurance, he has a Limited company but no company insurance can mew believe that - no she couldn't either!!! So she's several thousand out of pocket now for fixing the mess he made in the house; fixing the plumbing abomination he left, all the leaks and putting right the damage to 3 ceilings - 2 from water damage he caused and the one she fell through, plus all decorating that if there'd been no damage was totally fine and didn't need doing, plus medical expenses etc etc etc and she has no way to recoup the losses caused by that fluffing chump as apparently he's totally potless... fan-freaking-tastic!

So the chump is laughing his socks off that he's gotten away with it, when his negligence could have easily have killed or paralyzed the P.A. [she was so lucky her injuries weren't worse] and there's nothing anyone can do about it - what an absolute flufftard, and to think a dangerous chump like that is allowed to run a supposed legit business.

She's still struggling with her injuries, and it'll take another few months yet.

So there mew have it, and the moral of the story is this: never ever let anyone do any work at your home/property without seeing an insurance certificate.

If they are wurking at height or with ladders, make sure mew see that they've had propurr training and are fully insured to wurk at height because if they fall and sustain injury - it will be your fault and cost mew.  Get them to sign indemnity's too if possible.

The P.A. is seriously peeved by all of this and none of it is her fault, yet she's the one who's still suffering and severely out of pocket - sometimes there's just no justice!

Anyhoo on a lighter note....It's The Great BBHQ Burd Watch - today with Melvyn.

But furst - Many apologies to the Tabbies of Trout Towne, please scroll down without reading!

Melvyn was hanging out in the dressing room window watching that great, big fat pigeon perched in the tree, when he said and I quote, "There's good eating on that!"  OOPS! MOL!

Burd Watching with Melvyn ©BionicBasil® The Pet Parade 337

Swiftly moving on... See the new purple feeder on the tree?  That has a special blend of peanut butter burd food, and the little burdies really seem to like it... more on who visits it next time as we've had some newcomers in the garden this week.

The New Burd Feeder ©BionicBasil® The Pet Parade 337

We also use large plant-pot saucers as burdbaths, and we put a rock in the middle so the smaller burds have something to perch on.  There are 3 of that type plus two tall ones around the garden, and the larger burds can also bathe and drink from the pond as there's rockery exit ramp in one corner.

We wash the feeders and baths on a regular basis in hot soapy water with a dash of mild disinfectant, as mew do need to keep the facilities clean - we have two sets to rotate - then there's no downtime in feeding, as we definitely don't want a burd rebellion happening! MOL

So more on the BBHQ Winter Burd Watch series soon.

And finally in this weeks news round-up, Parsley sent $60 AUD to Animals Australia yesterday, so thanks again for all the comments and later this week we'll action our next one, so stay tuned fur that, as we've got a really nifty idea brewing!

Amber will be here on Friday with a cute book she can't wait to share with mew all, so do stop by the library, tea and nip cookies will be served, and we hope to see mew then!

See what a little snooze beast he is this morning, that's my favourite spot too!

He loves getting snuggled on the silk pillow in bed, and before we start hopping, who wants to tickle his back foot? That'll wake him up! MOL  MOL

We're also joining in the lovely Athena's Art Hop so do stop by and show off your pawesome arty-farty skills.

Anyhoo it's time for us to go on kitty patrol around the garden before it starts to get colder again, plus we've got to go fill up the burd feeders as the greedy little peckers have scoffed effurything!

Wishing mew lots of snoozy snuggles

Hello gorgeous library guests and welcome to my private library

Oh thank mew all so much for all the comments mew left on last weeks commentathon for the OZ bush fires, thanks to mew we raised £28, so we're adding another £2 to reach our £30 goal to send to Animals Australia.  And looking at today's exchange rate that wurks out at $57.44 AUD, so we'll round up and send $60 AUD.

I'll get Parsley to send the money early next week - as he is in charge of all the BBHQ finances, so thank mew all once again for helping, we couldn't have done it without mew.

And we've got another fund-raiser planned for next week for The RSPCA in Victoria, OZ.  So do stay tuned for that.

Also if mew don't follow us on instagram, mew've probably missed our #GingerWeek, here's a sneak peek at a couple of my pics, click the link above to go see Fudge's pics....

How To Draw Cats and Kittens

by

Heather Wallace

Here's A Small Snippet of the Book Blurb:

With the help of the easy-to-follow illustrations found in this book you’ll quickly be able to learn how to draw a whole bunch of cats and kittens. For each character, detailed step-by-step illustrations are provided so that you can easily follow along from start to finish.

>^.^<

This week I thought I'd share something a little bit different, and this book is great if mew're a bit arty-farty, or mew're thinking mew'd like to be a bit more arty-farty.

While not a very big book, it shows mew step by step how to draw cute kitty characters, and discusses different drawing methods and mediums too, so in essence its an all-in-one to learn how to draw simplistic characters in a variety of poses.

From absolute beginners to more seasoned artists, this would be a really useful addition to your art resource shelf.  As once mew've mastered the basics, mew can hone your skills even further by adding more detail to your drawings.

I'd recommend this to any budding artist or crafter who wants to draw their own characters for projects.  Or if mew love doodling, this opens a whole new world of doodles! MOL
